We begin this amazing Upper Mustang trek after a one day guided sightseeing of some of Kathmandu’s
famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. afterward, we take a scenic drive to Pokhara. This incredible
town laying just at the banks of Phewa Lake is one of Nepal’s most beautiful places to visit. Then a short
flight takes us to Jomsom, our starting point of the Upper Mustang trekking trail. We start this amazing
trek in Nepal by following the Kaligandaki River up to Kagbeni village. This iconic small town is famed for
its many apple orchards and apple wine.
The journey of the Upper Mustang trek continues along the banks of the Kaligandaki towards Tsehile, Shyangmochen, Tsrang and ultimately the highlight of the upper Mustang trek the stoned walled village of Lo Manthang. In order to get here, we do need to cross some mountain passes and trek to barren landscapes resembling the Wild West. Every village is located near a water source and on a patch of green.
